Causes of Watery Eyes
When you produce too many tears or when tear drainage is blocked, your eyes may get watery. It isn’t such a bad thing to have watery eyes because tears are essential for nourishment and lubrication of your eye, but if you feel that you are overproducing tears, then you may want to find a remedy to fix the problem. The excess tears can be caused by several factors:
- Dry eye syndrome
- Blockage of tear ducts
- Poor eyelid function
Most often, watery eyes are not a cause of eye distress, but rather just an eye symptom. Although they can be irritating and distracting, watery eyes are usually not a serious problem. To learn more about watery eyes and other ways to treat them, give us a call or visit our office today.
